I realised just now that I have not updated this page in a (year) while! Most of it still stands, although I’m now a year older, and our initial LCHF experiment that was only supposed to last for two months has now become the norm. I would definitely recommend that you give it a try if you’ve struggled sticking to diets in the past, or even if you have a chronic complaint (in my case it was migraines) that doesn’t seem to budge no matter what you do. Enjoy the recipes!
Hi, my name is Roxy, and welcome to my blog all about my favourite subject…FOOD!
I am a 31 year old PhD student living in Hampshire with my husband James. I think we’re both equally obsessed with food – me with the cooking and the eating and James mainly with the eating. Another thing you need to know about my husband is his love of running and everything running-related. This includes reading up on sports nutrition. He has a LOT of books on the subject (although not as many as my cooking books so I can’t complain). He recently discovered the benefits of a low-carb-high-fat (LCHF) diet (https://www.facebook.com/timnoakesrevolution) and decided he would like to give it a go for a couple of months. To make things easier I’ve decided to take part in this experiment also.
So… key facts about the LCHF diet:
1. Carbs are BAD.
2. Fat is GOOD.
Now, there’s another thing you need to know about me. I said before I love cooking. This does not come close to my love of baking – cake, bread, pies, pastries, cookies…did I mention cake? Oh yeah, and cake.
For the next two months, instead of spending my weekends thinking about baking and trying out new bakes, I will now be spending a lot of time thinking about breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
